Moda Fermanê (Imperative Mood)

The Imperative Mood is used to give commands, instructions, or make requests. In Kurdish, the imperative has different forms for singular (Tu) and plural/formal (Hûn).

Formation:

Singular (Tu): Verb stem (without prefixes)
Plural/Formal (Hûn): Verb stem + -in

Usage:

Used for direct commands, requests, or instructions to someone.

Imperative Forms for 9 Verbs

1. bûn (to be)
Form Imperative English
Singular (Tu) Be! Be!
Plural/Formal (Hûn) Bin! Be! (plural/formal)
2. heye (to have)
Form Imperative English
Note: "heye" (to have) does not have imperative forms as it's a stative verb.
3. hatin (to come)
Form Imperative English
Singular (Tu) Were! Come!
Plural/Formal (Hûn) Werin! Come! (plural/formal)
4. çûn (to go)
Form Imperative English
Singular (Tu) Biçe! Go!
Plural/Formal (Hûn) Biçin! Go! (plural/formal)
5. xwarin (to eat)
Form Imperative English
Singular (Tu) Bixwe! Eat!
Plural/Formal (Hûn) Bixwin! Eat! (plural/formal)
6. xwendin (to read / to study)
Form Imperative English
Singular (Tu) Bixwîne! Read!
Plural/Formal (Hûn) Bixwînin! Read! (plural/formal)
7. kirin (to do / to make)
